On 14 November, The Master and Clerk of the Shrewsbury Drapers Company, Nancy Sykes-Waller and Lyndsey O’Loughlin, were honoured guests of the Company of Mercers, Grocers and Haberdashers of Richmond, Yorkshire.
The evening unfolded in the historic ballroom of the King’s Head Hotel, a setting steeped in character and charm.
Despite the challenges of travel—Lyndsey navigating through thick fog across the Yorkshire hills and dales—the welcome that awaited was warm and generous. A well-earned glass of wine at the pre-dinner reception set the tone for a convivial evening, followed by a fine dinner shared among friends and fellow liverymen.
The Warden of the Richmond Company and his fellow members extended their hospitality with grace and good cheer, making the Drapers feel truly at home. The evening was a celebration of fellowship, tradition, and the enduring ties between livery companies.
