The charitable work of the Drapers has been continuous since 1444 when they established almshouses for widows and spinsters who received money, fuel and clothing from the Company.
In 2010 the Company took on the responsibility of the 5 almshouses at Holy Cross, adjacent to the Abbey in Shrewsbury, when the Trustees of their Charity transferred the land and buildings to the Shrewsbury Drapers.
